My Birthday Wish

Remember when you were younger and the excitement that you had while watching your mom or dad carry the cake over singing happy birthday to you?  Trying to decide what one wish you were going to wish for in your head, making sure to keep it a secret so that it would come true. I still get excitement over watching the cake brought over to me.  That is when I have a cake on my birthday.  Now though, I have 3 children looking at me asking me what it is I wished for.  And you know what, I tell them. ...

Words My Husband Said

NO this will not be a bashing post.  For me, it is to remind myself that what we say can mean different things to different people.  How we each take it also differs greatly and what we think someone means, they had no intent on it meaning that. Lately, Richard has been working hard.  This past Saturday he put in at least a 12 hour day.  I know that I need to tell him more often that I appreciate how hard he works.  This morning he said something to me that bothered me.  Bothered me enough that I sort of...

This Little Thing Called… Mom Guilt

I honestly didn't think that mom guilt could get any worse.  I remember having it after Quinton was born.  I felt as if I needed to be with him all 24 hours of each day.  He was, after all, my first born.  It was all a new journey for me. Then Annie came along and it was a bit better.  I of course, still had mom guilt but I went back to work before she turned 1.  I was ready.  I absolutely loved working outside of the home.  It was my little escape.  My way of being my own person...

Tasty Tuesday: Chicken Taco Burrito Bowl

I was looking for a great, simple, and delicious meal the other night. I ravaged my pantry and was at a loss. I had taken chicken out of the freezer and it was thawed out and just patiently waiting to be used up. I then looked through my Pinterest for some ideas. I saw some shredded chicken that had taco seasoning in it and that is when it hit me. I knew what I was going to make. I put some butter into the pan and ground up some pepper, sea salt, and smoked paprika. Put the chicken in and...

Goal Sharing Sunday: May goals

Can you believe it already the 2nd of May?  I can't.  This year seems to be going by faster and faster with every week that passes.  I am a few days behind. I am wanting to share with you how my April goals went and what my new May goals are. April was seriously an amazing month for me.  Business growth and reaching out of my comfort zone.  I went to a market and a Sexy Minds event.  Both events were fabulous and I am so glad that I did them.  I learned a lot and know how to reach...

My struggle with PPD.

There are moments I sit in the bathroom and cry.  I feel used, useless, and unworthy of love.  I get angry with my kids, just because they are being kids.  I feel like this monster trapped inside Samantha's skin.  There are days I don't recognize myself. I'm lucky and haven't felt any negative feelings towards Izzy or any of my other kids.  However, the feelings I have had towards myself are feelings I have overcome in the past.  Worthless, ugly, unlovable.  All come from this unspeakable disease that makes me feel inferior and not worthy of being a mother. I...
