Make Up and Me

I am not a make up person.  I NEVER have been.  Even in high school, I would rather just go to school with no make up on at all.

Maybe it’s the fact that I don’t know anything about it.  Make up and me just don’t mix.  I have never taken the time to learn techniques.  I know the basics.  I know how to put foundation on and apply mascara to my eye lashes.  That is the extent of my ability.

I am okay with that.  When it comes to anything more than that, I am at a loss.  Luckily when I had my boudoir shoot a few weeks ago, a friend reached out and said she could help me.  Originally I told her that I didn’t want to do anything that was out of my normal.  Well…. that really is everything.

Angie Stewart-Trudeau came to my rescue.  She agreed with me at first but when she arrived she talked me into something more bold.  After all, it was for boudoir photos.

Angie sells Senegence.  I won’t lie.  I have had my eye on their lipsticks for awhile but I just rarely wear lipstick, I haven’t taken the steps to purchase any.  I love Angie’s posts.  She is passionate about make up.  Not only that, we are similar.  Similar in the fact that she likes to look natural and not all glammed up.  Which was a HUGE bonus to me.

I have a very sensitive face.  I don’t use the products that you can find at the drug store.  My face just doesn’t like Covergirl, Maybeline, or any other make up.  For the past 3 years, I have been using Arbonne because it hasn’t made my face break out like a teenage girl.  Luckily, I am one of those ladies that is in her 30s and still breaks out like a pubescent girl.  It’s awesome!!!

Angie brought her kit and prepped me for my night of love making to the camera.  (That is what boudoir photos are all about!!)

We completely forgot to take before photos but we did get after photos and that’s really all that matters.

She started off by putting light color correcting tinted moisturizer on my face.  She applied it using a brush and I totally loved it.  It was light and didn’t feel heavy.  I HATE when make up feels heavy on my skin.

She also used Toasted Rose blush on me.  The shadows she used on me were Candlelight, Mocha Java Shimmer, and Garnet.  It was all finished off with Blu-Red Lipsense covered in glossy gloss.

I looked hot.  I felt hot.  I didn’t have the make up heaviness on my face that I was dreading that I would have.  It was flawless and it went on super easy.  It was the perfect look for boudoir photos.

The make up not only lasted for my shoot, it lasted once I got home and got everyone to bed.   My face felt fantastic.  It felt natural.  I washed my face and climbed into bed.  I closed my eyes because I was so happy, exhausted, and just ready for sleep.

I woke up the next day and realized that I still had the Lipsense on.  Now they are NOT joking when it doesn’t come off easily.  Other lipsticks that I have worn, just rub off.  I had photos done. I drank on site.  I even slept in this and it was still there.  I’m sure the moms at the school drop off the next morning were wondering why I was so dolled up.

I can’t recommend this make up to you more than I am.  It was great.  It went on easy.  It didn’t feel heavy.  If you are looking for anyone to help with questions about Senegence or want to purchase, I recommend checking out Angie’s Facebook page.

Contact her and she will help you figure out what you need and she will even doll you up and teach you all about the make up.

HUGE thank you to Angie for getting me beautiful for my photos.  HUGE thank you to Anna Miller with Dynamic Eye Photography for the photo shoot!! You can contact her below using the link.
